Overview
Wixon, an international developer and producer of custom flavor solutions for the food and beverage industry, contacted Oliver Construction Co. seeking a company with expertise in interior architectural planning, value engineering—particularly within mechanical systems—and the ability to manage construction across all trades in confined spaces.
At project start: Wixon’s 30-year-old laboratory and office facility was outdated, inefficient, and affected by moisture, humidity, sound, and various flavor aromas from adjacent spaces. Their goal was to create a state-of-the-art, innovative flavor solution center with more efficient space for employees and the ability to isolate laboratories and other areas for independent operation.
At project completion: All finishes and materials were replaced or refinished, and excess circulation space was converted into functional lab or office areas. A high-tech Doab Mechanical system provided each lab with its own ventilation control. Interior partitions were raised to the roof deck, further enhancing space isolation.
Every space Wixon envisioned was delivered—often improved—through thoughtful design, dramatically increasing product and workflow efficiency. Oliver then personalized the environment by incorporating Wixon’s brand colors as accent features on walls and millwork throughout the facility, adding a little “flavor” of our own!
