Oliver Underway on the Trek Trail Head

TREK has broken ground on a 5,950SF LEED Green Pavillion

Oconomowoc, WI 02/21/2022 – Oliver Construction has begun a LEED v4 Pavilion project located on the trails of Trek’s Waterloo Campus.  Asked for comment, Oliver Project Manager, Conor Farley had the following to say:

“The Trek Team along with Oliver’s Design Team lead by Senior Architect Bud Bessler have imagined this space to look towards a future of sustainability while paying homage to the surrounding environment. The building will rest on an 85-acre parcel where Trek has intertwined their riding trails within the property’s ecosystem. To this extent, the building’s main structural elements consist of sustainably harvested Cross Laminated Timber and Glue Laminate Timber elements. The building will act as a unification of future technologies such as photovoltaic power generation and geothermal heating while honoring the surrounding natural landscapes with substantial usage of timber and locally quarried stone veneers. We hope this LEED building will stand as a testament to Trek’s long-term commitment of sharing beautiful and sustainable products with the world.”

A message from Trek:

In an effort to continue to expand our sustainability initiatives, Trek has broken ground on our first LEED certified building.  The green building principles and efforts put in place here will be adopted across the company to minimize the impact of our company’s footprint and support a healthier built environment.  Efforts underway at the trail center include:

  • Recycling all construction waste
  • Installation of a solar array
  • Geothermal climate regulating system
  • FSC certified wood products
  • Utilize local material wherever possible
  • Native landscaping and habitat support
  • Other passive and active sustainability measures associated with LEED standards

The TREK Mission –

Trek started in a small Wisconsin barn in 1976, but our founders always saw something bigger. Forty-four years later, we’re on a mission to make our world a better place to live and ride.

We build only products we love, provide incredible hospitality to our customers, and change the world by getting more people on bikes.”
