On June 7, the Oliver Construction team joined thousands of cyclists at Trek’s global headquarters in Waterloo, Wisconsin, for the Trek 100 Ride for Hope—a charity ride supporting the MACC Fund, which funds critical research for childhood cancer and related blood disorders.
Since 1990, the Trek 100 has raised more than $22 million for the cause. It’s a ride we’re proud to be part of—not just for the miles, but for the mission behind them. This year, we brought a strong team, including two former USA Masters Champions, and had top finishers across all three ride distances: 100 miles, 64 miles, and 35 miles (and while it’s technically a non-competitive charity ride, let’s just say our team brought a little competitive spirit anyway). It was a great showing all around—on the course, and in the conversations that happened along the way.
One of those moments came during the ride, when our Chairman, Keith Farley, struck up a conversation with a fellow cyclist from Colorado who works at Shimano. He complimented our team’s kits, asked about Oliver Construction—and when he found out we had worked on Trek’s global HQ, his response was immediate: he’d just been there the day before and couldn’t stop talking about the design, flow, and craftsmanship.
“World class,” he said. “You can tell the difference when something’s built with that level of attention to detail.”
He was especially taken with The Lodge, Trek’s meeting and hospitality space, calling it one of the highlights of his visit—comparing it to a high-end lodge in the Colorado mountains.
That kind of feedback is always meaningful. Hearing someone from outside the region, who knows construction and design, speak so highly of our work was a proud moment—especially for the team members who helped bring those projects to life.
To Bud Bessler, Jon Nord, Rich Coykendall, Conor Farley, Matt Kerwin, Kurt Kelley, Bob Betlej, and Josh Davison—your commitment to quality and thoughtful design continues to stand out, even years later.
Beyond the ride, it was great to connect with familiar faces, including John Burke, Elaine Burke (Trek co-founder and John’s mother), Richie Burke, and even Bo Jackson, who was there supporting the cause.
At the end of the day, the Trek 100 is about more than the ride. It’s about community, legacy, and giving back—and we’re honored to be part of it.
Thank you to Trek and the MACC Fund for continuing to lead such an incredible event. We were proud to ride—and proud of the work that’s still making an impact.Learn more here: https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/trek100/
