Business Development Manager

- Reports to the Partners and is responsible for driving new business opportunities in our defined niches. Work closely with partners, project managers, and estimators to generate leads and close sales for Oliver Construction Co. Focus on building long-term relationships with key decision makers and can articulate our value proposition to C-Level executives across multiple industries. Navigate through complex deals in excess of $2M in value and are able to close them on your own.
- This role develops the overall strategy for the B2B sales and marketing function, organization structure, systems and reporting metrics for an aggressive set of growth Key Performance Indicators (KPI) or Success Factors. The Business Development professional serves as a brand ambassador for Oliver Construction Co. by serving as a liaison to potential clients, industry leaders, and trade partners.
- Actively network with key strategic partners to promote the company’s capabilities and reputation
- Track, monitor and maintains a Sales Pipeline through Cosential CRM
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the internal teams to deliver RFP’s, present sales pitches, and close deals
- Collaborate across departments to lead marketing initiatives such as sales presentations, event planning, client entertainment, and promotions
- Maintain relationships with current clientele and acts as an ambassador for Oliver Construction Co. at all industry events
- Build client relationships. You will initiate new potential client contacts and develop and maintain relationships with existing clients to achieve selection to perform preconstruction and budgeting services.
- Partner with senior leadership team in formulating annual business development plan for the market or region (SWOT analysis, market trends, existing and target clients, required resources, business development budget.)
- Deliver presentations and proposals to clients to win business. Assist the development of major proposals and train and assist project personnel to make effective client presentations. Organize and tender qualification data to clients. Lead the effort in developing presentation materials.
- Develops and maintains a wide network through participation in industry committees and associations. Represent Oliver Construction Co. at trade shows. Identify and lead Oliver’s participation in strategic trade shows for networking purposes and to increase our presence and visibility.
- Collaborate with multiple teams. Partner effectively with senior leadership and all internal departments such as estimating, operations, marketing, safety/quality, and IT to assist the business development effort.
- Maintain Cosential CRM for communicating client contacts, current targeted project status, and known future bidding opportunities.
- The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive internal and external marketing plan that would increase revenues and profit. Also, is responsible for planning and implementing sales/marketing development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets / clients.
- Assists in planning of any event that highlights corporate services.
- Optimize the company’s participation in relevant trade groups and associations.
- Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
- Manage all details of the RFP process and workflow
- Maintains and orders all company logo advertising for vehicles and equipment.
- Provides timely and cordial interaction with supporting work groups, such as Accounting, Estimating, Operations, Human Resources, etc.
As the Business Development Manager for Oliver Construction Company, you will lead business development, sales and marketing efforts to grow our market share, developing relationships with empowered client contacts to achieve overall growth objectives. You will partner with the senior management team to develop new and repeat business. The core focus will be on broad commercial and light industrial markets. This position reports to partners at Oliver Construction Co.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Previous experience in Construction Management, Commercial Construction, or related field
- Established relationships within the commercial construction industry
- Highly personable with the ability to quickly build relationships

Required:
- Experience working with CRM systems
- Experience with closing deals in a consultative sales environment
- Experienced with sales cycles ranging from 90 days to 16 months
